IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a checklist pattern. Each round is written out for easier tracking and checkboxes are placed for marking off upon completion. However, this makes the pattern significantly longer. Check to see the pages you want to print before starting.

PATTERN NOTES: This bag is knit first as a flat bottom square in garter stitch and then picked up around to knit the sides to the drawstring double knit top casing. I highly recommend matching the weight of your yarn to the pattern yarn weight that is recommended. (For example: this pattern recommends worsted weight yarn = 250 yards (229 m) per 115 grams (4 oz).) Using a skein with significantly fewer or more yards will result in a different product.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Circumference: 24.5” / [62 cm]
Base: 8” [20.5 cm] x 5” [12.5 cm]

YARN: DK weight, 250 yards/229 m = 115 grams (4 oz)

SAMPLE: Knit in Leading Men Fiber Arts Dramaturg DK weight (100% superwash merino) using colorways Lightning Bug and Bare Necessities weighing a total 110 g and using 275 yds. (70 g/175 yards MC; 40g/100 yards CC)

NEEDLES: US 4 [3.5 mm] 16-inch (40 cm) circular needle US 5 [3.75 mm] 16-inch (40 cm) circular needle OR SIZES NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Optional: Two US Size 4 [3.5 mm] double pointed needles for I-Cord drawstring
Optional: Two US Size 4 [3.5 mm] 24-inch circular needle for knitting casing separately

NOTE: Recommended to use 2 circulars or magic loop as turning the square corners for the bottom makes the knitting quite tight to manipulate, especially in the first few rounds.

GAUGE: 26 sts and 34 rnds per 4”/10cm (6.5 sts and 8.5 rnds per 1”/2.5 cm) in chevron colorwork

NOTE: Base of the bag is knit tighter on one size smaller needle for stability.
