Probably the most wearable of any of the knitting projects, the cowl is also the easiest pattern in the eBook to knit. Knit completely in the round, these stitches stack upon one another to form words that make it easy to knit.

Cowl can be knit using 2-7 colors – Feel free to mix and match your word stripes to suit your color preferences. You can make the cowl circumference shorter or longer by adding or subtracting a multiple of 28.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:8.25” tall x 28 (39)” circumference, wet blocked & stretched
YARN: Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted (100% wool; 245 yds/224m; 3.5 oz/100g per skein) – 1 skein each color
NEEDLE: US size 8 (5.0 mm) 24-inch (60 cm) circular needle OR sized needed to obtain gauge
GAUGE: 20 sts and 24 rnds = 4”/10 cm (5 sts and 6 rnds = 1”/2.5 cm) in Stockinette Stitch colorwork

NOTIONS: Stitch marker, tapestry needle

PATTERN NOTES
All colorwork is charted and is worked from the bottom of each word from right to left. Cowl can be knit using 2-7 colors – feel free to mix
and match your word stripes to suit your preferences.

You can make the cowl circumference shorter or longer by adding or subtracting a multiple of 28 sts.
Circumference adjustments will require more or less yarn than stated in the materials list.
SAMPLES
All samples were knit in Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted.
The Short cowl was knit using Golden Honey and Burnt Sienna and used 193 yds/93g total of both colors combined.
The Long cowl was knit using Harvest Wheat and Sunburst Gold used 268 yds/128g total of both colors combined.
